How many Billions?
Next up it’s ‘B’ for billions. And this story is about the world’s population reaching the 8 billion milestone this November 2022.
In 2000, the world’s population was just over 6 billion, so in 20 years the population has increased by almost 2 billion. What’s interesting about this milestone number, that even with 8 billion humans on planet earth, we still only make up 0.01% of earth’s biodiversity. Plants take up 82%, with bacteria amounting to 13% and the animal kingdom accounting for 0.4%.
So with those interesting facts, I wanted to create a representation of that information in the form of an infographic. Infographics are a great way to communicate data in an engaging and interesting way. Intended to present information quickly and clearly, infographics come in a range of sizes depending on the level and complexity of content to be communicated. The content and design approach of the infographic will also depend on how you intent to publish it, for example you might want to have a downloadable pdf on your website or you might be posting a compelling graphic on social.
Associate has worked with many clients designing infographics covering diverse subjects such as local authority performance figures to tourism industry data visualisation and facts about Ireland, you can see some infographic examples in our case studies section.
